My acquired skills and experience and my attitude make
me an ideal candidate for contract or consultancy work.
I can offer a potential client a wealth of experience in
many aspects of engineering, of production management and
man management and experience of many management tools.
My experience of several different work cultures and organisational
structures enables me to fit readily into any working situation
and quickly "get up to speed".
During my contract engineering period I have been employed
over a wide range of roles including multi project engineering,
chemical engineering design, process commissioning, validation
and operator training. My main skill is in working with
a client to identify the issue and then to progress to a
timely conclusion.

demonstrating my all-round abilities, |
Including all or part of technical evaluation,
process design, tender process, contractor selection, safety
review / HAZOP, project engineering, commissioning, re-validation
& operator training. |

Air compressor replacement project,
purified water system upgrade, environmental monitoring,
safety relief valve calculations (API520), design and
installation of several lab scale systems, front-end
study for the construction of a pilot plant area and
the refit of a laboratory building incorporating 16
fume cupboards. |

I produced a detailed design for
reconfiguring raw material storage on an operational
plant. This involved the sequential re-tagging of several
storage tanks and re-piping the transfer pumps with
primary focus on safety and minimising process downtime
caused by the changeover. I also supervised the work,
took responsibility for safety procedures and produced
the commissioning plan. Undertaking COSHH assessments
for 30 chemicals. Identifying areas for improvement
and preparing an action list for improvement under the
COSHH regulations.
Detailed design and safety review of many simultaneous,
small process modifications. These tasks involved working
closely with operating staff, production planning, maintenance
& safety to ensure all disciplines "bought
in" to the solution.
Design of pressure relief systems using API 520 &
API 2000 for normal process and fire relief protection

Produced test procedures (acceptance
tests) and commissioning plan for a crusher and conveyor
system for raw material conditioning. I then completed
the pre-commissioning tests and the commissioning of
the equipment. All the above was completed with the
appropriate documentation and certification.
Improved the control system set-up of a gas fired, fluid
bed dryer system. |
